A career as a Data Platform Specialist within the Capital Markets team at National Bank means acting as a specialist in critical data platforms that support trading activities. In this role, you will have a direct impact on data reliability, performance and integrity by leveraging your expertise in database technologies, automation and cloud environments.

Your role

  • Manage and develop analytics and real-time data platforms.
  • Data ingestion, processing and exploitation solutions.
  • Ensure platform performance, availability and observability.
  • Automate operations using Python and DevOps practises.
  • Ensure data quality, security and integrity.
  • Collaborate with development, infrastructure and business teams to deliver high-performance and scalable solutions.

Reporting to a Manager, you will join a team recognized for its technical expertise, collaborative mindset and commitment to operational excellence. Prerequisites:

  • Experience with Kubernetes, containers, or containerised application platforms.
  • Experience with real-time analytical databases, time-series platforms, or ticking-table architectures, such as kdb+/q, ClickHouse, Deephaven, Apache Pinot, Materialize, or similar high-volume streaming OLAP systems.
  • Experience with OpenTelemetry or similar observability tooling and experience with C++, Java, or Groovy.
  • Experience in electronic trading, financial services, market data, or another low-latency / high-availability environment.
  • Knowledge of data retention, archival, storage lifecycle management, and long-term retrieval strategies.
  • Experience building data quality frameworks, automated reconciliation tooling, or operational dashboards.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and modern production operations practices.
