This innovative facility integrates data and technology into patient assessment, care delivery, and communication, while providing specialized, person-centred support for individuals who no longer require hospital-level treatment but need additional care to safely return home or transition back into their community. Reporting to the Transitional Care Manager, the Dietary Aide is responsible for preparing and serving meals for patients.

About the Opportunity

  • Consistently ensures food quality, presentation, and service delivery meet established department standards

  • Ensures meals are attractive, the correct temperature and portion size, and that service is timely

  • Follows production sheets to guide food preparation and assist with cost control

  • Stays up to date with daily changes related to menus and/or patients

  • Assists with the process for checking and receiving of deliveries and inventory control.

  • Ensures all supplies are stored, labelled, and rotated properly

  • Ensures completion of required documentation e.g. food waste, requested forecast changes, food and equipment temperature and cleaning checklists, security / lock-up checklists, audits, as required

  • Maintains cleaning and sanitation of the survey according to established and required cleaning guidelines

  • Reports areas and equipment in need of repair to the maintenance department

  • Ensures kitchen appearance meets established standards for cleanliness and organization


About You

In addition to placing high value on continuous improvement, collaboration and accountability, you bring:

  • A high-school diploma or GED

  • Basic Food Safety Certification is required

  • Ability to work flexible hours and shifts (including weekends and holidays)

  • Strong customer service skills and a passion for serving seniors

  • Experience in the culinary field

  • Knowledge of basic cleaning procedures, equipment and chemicals used

  • Ability to follow methods and practices of safe food preparation and service

  • Bilingualism in English and French is considered an asset

  • Successful candidates will be required to obtain a?clear Criminal Record Check, and?where applicable, a Vulnerable Sector Check, prior to appointment
