Role Overview & Summary
Leads a small team of developers while remaining deeply hands-on with coding, troubleshooting, and optimization. Responsible for building enterprise-grade Amazon Lex bots, designing high-performing voice and chat conversational experiences, and integrating Lex seamlessly with Amazon Connect and AWS serverless services.
Core Responsibilities
Build enterprise-grade Amazon Lex bots from requirements through production while remaining hands-on.
Design high-performing voice and chat conversational experiences.
Integrate Lex seamlessly with Amazon Connect and AWS serverless services.
Analyze production conversations to improve intent recognition and customer experience.
Create scalable intent models, slot types, prompts, and dialog management.
Optimize NLU performance through continuous tuning based on production traffic.
Implement multilingual conversational experiences (English/French preferred).
Design robust fallback, clarification, interruption, and error-handling strategies.
Must Have Skills:
6–10 years of software development experience.
3+ years of hands-on Amazon Lex V2 development.
3+ years of Amazon Connect integration experience.
Experience with AWS serverless architectures.
AWS Certification (Associate or Professional) is preferred.
Mandatory Lex Technical Skills: Amazon Lex V2, Intent and slot modeling, Custom slot types, Dialog management, Session attributes, Lambda code hooks, Prompt variations, DTMF integration, Confidence score tuning, and Multilingual bot development.
Mandatory AWS Development Skills: AWS Lambda, Amazon DynamoDB, API Gateway, Amazon Bedrock (preferred), and Amazon Connect.
Preferred AI Knowledge: Intent Classification, Entity Recognition, Prompt Engineering, Conversational Design, NLP/NLU concepts, Amazon Bedrock, and Generative AI fundamentals.
