Nutrien is a leading provider of crop inputs and services, and our business results make a positive impact on the world. Our purpose, Feeding the Future, is the reason we come to work each day. We're guided by our culture of care and our core values: We put safety first. We act with integrity. We are stronger together. We deliver with excellence.

Through the collective expertise of our nearly 26,000 employees, we operate a world-class network of production, distribution, and ag retail facilities. We efficiently serve growers' needs and strive to provide a more profitable, sustainable, and secure future for all stakeholders. Help us raise the expectation of what an agriculture company can be and grow your career with Nutrien.

What You'll Do:
  • Engage with underground frontline workers and supervisors to identify and implement improvements in safety, productivity, quality, and/or cost
  • Collaborate with mine department teams to develop and implement solutions and improvements
  • Communicate with underground work force as well as peers across the Nutrien potash network about improvements
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for improvement by reviewing mining process performance
  • Support mining process changes (e.g. roll-outs of new technology, mining pattern changes)
  • Lead studies of mining processes (e.g. borer bit trials)
  • Providing mentorship to mine operations engineering support interns
  • Entering work requests and requisitions into EAM/Oracle as required to support CI activities
  • Maintain documentation and prepare reports on CI activities, progress, and outcomes
  • Promote and demonstrate a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with all company policies and regulatory requirements
  • Develop systems and processes for assessing mining equipment performance
  • Work with CI team to prioritize CI activities based on data and confirm initiative success
What You'll Bring:
  • Five or more years of experience in industrial environments, with a preference for candidates who have potash mining experience; in the absence of potash experience, underground mining experience would be considered a strong asset
  • Demonstrated strong commitment to continuous improvement and teamwork
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and proven work ethic
  • Ability to develop and adapt new concepts and innovate approaches
  • Effective communication skills with a variety of groups from hourly workers to senior leaders
  • Proven ability to work across different functional groups
