Overview

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Planning & Scheduling Lead to join our team in Vancouver, British Columbia as we are expanding our operations in British Columbia and across Canada.

The Planning & Scheduling Lead is responsible for leading the planning and scheduling functions for large‑scale infrastructure and hydropower projects. This role manages a team of Planners/Schedulers and ensures that project schedules are accurately developed, maintained, risk‑assessed, and communicated to internal stakeholders, contractors, and clients. The Planning & SchedulingLead supports project controls, construction, commercial, and legal teams by providing schedule analytics, reporting, and forensic schedule analysis in alignment with contractual requirements.

Your role
  • Review project documents and liaise with project teams to identify scope components and requirements, including laying out the scope over the work breakdown structure as agreed with project leads and correlating with the budget structure.
  • Support establishing Project WBS and packaging project scope following Advance Work Packaging strategies and establish project schedules using known industry software to meet project requirements (Primavera P6, MS Project and/or TILOS).
  • Develop project plans and schedules to support different CAPEX cost estimates under AACE standard requirements.
  • Participate, support and propose execution strategies and sequence to align with project requirements and assumptions.
  • Create, arrange, load and assess schedule resources to different schedule levels and adjust/level resources to meet project plans.
  • Identify the critical path and near‑critical path using CPM scheduling method and reflect the same along with other schedule assumptions on the basis of the schedule.
  • Conduct review sessions with project teams and clients in order to obtain the team's buy‑in and set schedules as baselines.
  • Confer with project and client teams on a regular basis, track time and sequence changes to update the schedule and issue baseline schedule revisions as applicable.
  • Support other project management and project controls functions and perform other duties related to planning and scheduling when required by project teams.

About you
  • A bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering Management or a related engineering field.
  • More than 15 years of relevant experience in planning, scheduling, and project controls to deliver mega infrastructure, industrial and power projects.
  • Experience working on FEED mandates of projects with CAPEX value of CAD 1 Billion or greater.
  • Proven leadership experience supervising Project Planners/Schedulers.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Schedule Risk Analysis using Monte Carlo methods.
  • Advanced experience developing Time–Distance (TILOS) schedules for rail, track, systems, and major infrastructure works.
