Reporting to the Instrumentation Supervisor, the Instrumentation Apprentice, under the supervision of a certified Journeyperson Instrumentation Technician, is responsible for assisting with the installation, calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of instrumentation and process control equipment across Nutrien Redwater Fertilizer Operations. The apprentice supports the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of plant assets by performing work in accordance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company procedures.

This position is located in Redwater, Alberta, Canada and is not available for remote work.

What You'll Do:
  • Assist with installation, maintenance, and repair of instrumentation systems
  • Support journeypersons with daily field tasks
  • Participate in troubleshooting and basic diagnostics
  • Maintain tools and equipment
  • Follow all site safety procedures and requirements
What You'll Bring:
  • Must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Completion of 1st year Instrumentation apprenticeship school and hours
  • Possess basic computer skills and knowledge
  • Ability to perform in a high-performance culture
  • Ability to effectively communicate (both verbal & non-verbal) with a diverse group of people
  • Ability to work at heights, outdoors, and around potentially hazardous chemicals
  • Ability to read, understand and comply with standards, policies and procedures
  • Possess troubleshooting and critical-thinking ability
  • Physical capability to and comfort entering and working in a confined space
  • Ability to detect and understand audible alarms, changes in noise levels of rotating equipment and portable radio communications
