FRED01H3 L01 - Language Practice VII - Fall 2026

Course description: A continuation of FREC01H3 and FREC02H3. Through an action-oriented approach, students will continue to hone their language competencies by participating in task-based activities in real-world, contextual situations and by engaging with authentic materials. Students will also work on developing the necessary techniques for the production of various types of discourse. By the end of FRED01H3, students will be at the level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference.

Salary: In accordance with the current CUPE 3902 Unit 3 Collective Agreement, the stipend rate for a half course (Y, F or S), inclusive of vacation pay, will be:
Sessional Lecturer I: $9,997.47
Sessional Lecturer I – Long Term: $10,699.21
Sessional Lecturer II: $10,699.21
Sessional Lecturer II – Long Term: $10,953.96
Sessional Lecturer III: $10,953.95
Sessional Lecturer III – Long Term: $11,228.90
Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.

Minimum Qualifications: Ph. D. in French or a related area of study. Excellent knowledge and understanding of the subject matter gained through previous involvement with the course or its equivalent; excellent communication skills in French (native or near-native level). Strong academic record and professional promise.

Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to those who have taught FRED01H3 or equivalent.

Duties: All normal duties related to the design and teaching of a university credit course, including preparation and delivery of course content; development, administration and marking of assignments; calculation and submission of grades; holding regular office hours.
