Job Description

What is the opportunity?

In this role, you will oversee the settlement of security trades across North American markets. Your responsibilities will include ensuring timely trade matching and settlement, conducting investigations related to client inquiries and reconciliation discrepancies, and maintaining compliance with industry standards for custody, clearing, and settlement practices. Experience with RBC Investor Services (IS) operations and knowledge of settlement principles would be advantageous. We seek a strong communicator capable of delivering results in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with evolving priorities.

What will you do?

QUALITY SERVICE

  • Ensure all settlement activity and processes are completed with accuracy, timeliness and completeness within market time frames.

  • Provide a high level of service by responding promptly and accurately to daily queries and requests regarding Security Trade Settlement. Respond to specific requests received via email or telephone.

  • Participate in approved Projects & Initiatives.

  • Demonstrated capacity to maintain performance quality and meet deliverables during periods of high transaction volume and compressed timelines

  • Prioritize/Manage tasks to ensure SLA's are met and our Clients experience Exceptional Service

ADMINISTRATION / MANAGEMENT OF SETTLEMENT ACTIVITY

  • Execute trade settlement processes in accordance with established procedures/deadlines, maintaining accuracy and operational efficiency.

  • Maintain current and comprehensive desk operating and protocols.

  • Conduct accurate and complete reconciliation activities, including end-of-day settlement verification and ledger balance validation.

What do you need to succeed?

Must have

  • University/College degree in Business, Finance or equivalent

  • Minimum work experience in a financial institution, investment firm, or related financial services environment.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and demonstrated technical competency with relevant financial systems and tools.

  • Strong analytical capabilities with proven problem-solving expertise and attention to detail.

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within team-based environments and build productive working relationships.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with Market Trade Settlements, Custody Operations or Financial Back Office Operations

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Macros and/or Programming Language (such as Python, Java, JavaScript, or C++)

  • Recognized Financial Industry Accreditation (i.e. CSC, CPA, CGA… etc.)

  • Familiarity with Investor Services Systems & Platforms: Canadian Depository for Securities (CDS), Depository Trust Company (DTCC), Transaction Lifecycle Management (TLM), Arrow, Trust, Milvus.

Pay Range

The expected pay range for this position is:

$46,000.00 - $70,000.00
