The Soft Accessories Design team brings modern wardrobes to life, creating pieces that move seamlessly between activity and everyday wear. The work sits at the intersection of function, material innovation, and refined design, with a focus on thoughtful construction, elevated aesthetics, and versatility. Every detail is considered to support movement, comfort, and performance.

Soft accessories are textile-driven essentials designed to complement apparel and complete the wardrobe. This includes headwear, handwear, neckwear, and performance socks. Each grounded in technical materials, knit construction, and functional design. Together, they deliver pieces that are both purposeful and effortless, built for how people move through their day.

the role

We're looking for a Design Assistant, Soft Accessories to join a team shaping versatile, high-performing product that moves seamlessly between activity and everyday life. This role sits within a highly collaborative environment spanning multiple construction techniques and product platforms; including knit, cut & sewn, molded, bonding, flatbed, and seamless knit, offering a unique opportunity to develop a truly holistic design perspective.

As a Design Assistant, you'll play an integral role in bringing ideas to life, supporting the design process from concept through to creation. You will help translate creative direction into tangible product through detailed flat sketches, line plans, mockups, and prototypes, while contributing to clear and compelling presentation materials. With a strong eye for detail and organization, you'll maintain key design tools and documentation, including "Why We Made This" storytelling that connects product intent to end use.

Working closely with Designers and your cross-functional partners, you will actively participate in fittings, design reviews, and product meetings, capturing insights, tracking actions, and helping move development forward. You will gain exposure to a wide range of product creation methods and collaborate across categories, building a deep understanding of how different constructions and materials inform performance and aesthetic.

You will contribute to ongoing research, exploring trends, materials, knit innovations, and competitive product across the soft accessories space. This curiosity will support the team's creative direction and help shape product that balances function, comfort, and refined design.

what you will do

  • Support the design and development of soft accessories, contributing to elevated essentials and versatile pieces that complete a modern, head-to-toe wardrobe.
  • Partner closely with Designers and Senior Designers across multiple product types, helping bring seasonal concepts to life frominitialidea through to final product.
  • Create andmaintainsketches, CADs, line sheets, and presentation materials that clearly communicate design intent, construction, materials, and functionality.
  • Be an active participant in fittings, design reviews, and cross-functional meetings,capturing feedback, tracking updates, and keeping product information organized and up to date.
  • Collaborate with Development, Technical Design, and Materials teams to support strong, thoughtful product execution.
  • Help bring storytelling into the product bymaintainingand updating seasonal narratives and "Why We Made This" documentation.
  • Contribute to research and inspiration across accessories, movement, and modern lifestyle,bringing fresh perspective into the design process.
  • Support milestone moments and presentations through preparation of files, mockups, prototypes, and assortmentorganization.
  • Build your understanding of materials, trims, yarns, and knit structures through hands-on involvement and mentorship from experienced team members.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, positive team environment while continuing to grow your creative voice, technical skills, and design confidence.

qualifications

  • 0–2 years of industry experience (internships and placements included)
  • BA, BFA, or BS in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or related discipline (or equivalent)
  • Knitwear or knit accessories experience strongly preferred
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
  • Strong interest in textiles, materials, and apparel design
  • Foundational design skills to support the creation of garments that are aesthetically compelling, functional, and commerciallyviable
  • Ability to supportmock‑ups, tech sketch updates, and detailednote‑takingduring fittings
  • Strong communicationskills—able to clearly articulate ideas visually and verbally, and actively incorporate feedback
  • Innovative mindset with curiosity around how materials and construction can improve athlete performance

compensation and benefits package

lululemon's compensation offerings are grounded in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and team performance. The typical hiring range for this position is from $60,000 - $80,000 CADannually; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our competitive annual bonus program subject to program eligibility requirements.
