What is the opportunity?
RBC Direct Investing is building the future of self-directed investing in Canada — and we're looking for a Director, Digital Product Marketing to lead the digital experience that brings it to life.
This is a senior, high-impact role with accountability for how RBC Direct Investing presents itself online — from first discovery through to conversion, retention, and engagement. You'll develop and implement digital marketing strategy across owned channels and lead a team of skilled marketers.
What will you do?
Digital Strategy & Channel Performance
Set and lead the end-to-end digital marketing strategy across owned channels (web, email, app, and paid) for RBC Direct Investing — from awareness through acquisition and retention
Translate brand strategy into concrete, channel-specific marketing programs that drive measurable business outcomes
Own the online conversion funnel: establish clear performance benchmarks at every stage and drive continuous improvement against them
Lead discoverability strategy in partnership with SEO/AEO and content teams — increasing qualified traffic, improving search ranking, and building out tracking and reporting capabilities
Content, Creative & Brand Expression
Define how RBC Direct Investing looks, sounds, and feels online — maintaining a distinctive brand voice across every digital touchpoint
Build a content engine that uses data, personalization, and AI tools to produce high-quality assets efficiently and at scale
Champion online brand storytelling and ensure product marketing integrates seamlessly with broader campaign activity
People & Team Leadership
Lead and develop a team of digital marketers — setting clear direction, maintaining high standards, and creating the conditions for sustained high performance
Coach team members through direct feedback, meaningful development conversations, and well-designed stretch opportunities
Cultivate a team culture grounded in curiosity, experimentation, and continuous learning
Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Partnership
Work closely with brand, product & business partners to deliver integrated experiences
Communicate strategy clearly and with conviction to senior leadership; be a trusted voice on digital marketing across the organization
Identify and reduce organizational friction, enabling your team to maintain momentum and focus on high-impact work
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
Post-secondary degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Analytics, or related
10+ years of digital marketing experience, with meaningful time spent in financial services, a fintech, or a consumer brand where digital performance was central to the business
Proven results building and growing an online brand in a competitive space — a demonstrable track record of improving key business metrics; traffic, conversion, engagement, revenue
Deep expertise in digital marketing strategy with bias for mobile-first principles, across SEO/AEO, content marketing, paid and owned channels, email, and web — with a strong understanding of how these channels integrate and amplify each other
Strong command of data analytics, with hands-on experience translating data into decisions
Experience building and leading high-performing teams — a thoughtful approach to hiring, developing talent, and creating strong team culture and environment
Excellent communication skills — able to write a tight brief, present with confidence to senior leadership, and align cross-functional partners effectively
Collaborative team player who is open to feedback and ability to quickly adapt to change
Resilience in ambiguous, fast-moving environments — you set direction clearly, adapt without losing momentum, and bring your team with you through change
Ability to thrive in a hybrid work setting with 3-4 days/wk. in office and 1-2 days/wk. max remote
Nice-to-Have
MBA or investment-related credentials (CFA, CSC)
Active self-directed investor or strong personal interest in investing
