As a member of the Municipal Infrastructure team within the Civil Engineering, Design and Project Management Division for Canada, you will work in a collaborative, fast‑paced, and team-oriented environment, supporting the delivery of major Transit Rail and civil infrastructure projects.
As a Civil & Utility Designer, you will support civil and utilities design activities under the guidance of senior designers and engineers. You will gain exposure to civil infrastructure design including utilities, roadworks, drainage, grading, rail, and structures, while contributing to the preparation of drawings, models, and technical documentation throughout various project phases.
Your roleProduce detailed CADD drawings and 3D models for municipal utilities (water, wastewater, stormwater, and related civil infrastructure).
Assist in the preparation of civil and utilities engineering drawings, plans, profiles, cross‑sections, and quantity take‑offs for infrastructure works including earthworks, grading, roadworks, and drainage.
Assist in utility coordination, clash detection, and design revisions.
Maintain drawing standards, templates, and project documentation.
Incorporate survey data, engineering markups, and design inputs into accurate models and drawings.
Conduct quality checks to ensure compliance with municipal standards, project specifications, and best practices.
Collaborate closely with engineers, project managers, and other technologists to meet project timelines and deliverables.
Support continuous improvement of drafting workflows and standards.
About you
Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.
2–4 years of experience in civil infrastructure or utilities design.
Advance Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
Experience with municipal utility design (watermain, sanitary & storm system).
Experience managing drawing sets and revisions.
Knowledge of BIM 360, Project wise and Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) is an asset.
Familiarity with Ontario civil, transportation, and municipal design standards is considered an asset.
Strong attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Valid Driver's License is required.
