Overview

AtkinsRéalis' is hiring a Construction Inspector based out of our Vancouve r office. The Construction Inspector will support various projects based in British Columbia and across Canada.

This position requires a strong understanding of construction inspection principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams.

Your role
  • Monitor and ensure the work of contractors involved in construction projects and performs inspection and quality assurance activities.
  • Frequently communicates with client representatives and contractors to ensure inspection activities are progressing against timelines
  • Observes and documents construction activities in accordance with contract requirements, such as: daily diaries, daily pay item reports during progress of work, memos to contractor regarding acceptance or rejection of work, and more.
  • Researches and interprets contract requirements to determine whether construction work is performed in substantial compliance with plans, specifications, and special provisions.
  • Ability to plan and prioritize tasks, as well as advise internal project manager and/or owner of any failures or delays.
  • Maintain quality standards in all work produced, checking computations, and/or reviewing designs and drawings performed by others.
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Prepare the daily reports and participates in the preparation of the weekly and monthly reports
  • Supervise the construction works and support the OER in some activity where possible.

About you
  • Post‑secondary education in Engineering, Construction or related field or a combination of equivalent training and work experience
  • Minimum 5 – 10 years of proven inspection experience directly related major large scale construction projects
  • Strong working knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Exposure to working on multi‑disciplinary construction sites
  • Exceptional analytical, problem solving, planning, and organizing abilities
  • Strong interpersonal skills combined with a positive, team‑oriented attitude

Expected compensation for this role is between Pay Range $77,900 - $107,100annually. Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.
