Join a team that shapes the future of airport infrastructure across Canada and beyond. As part of our Engineering Services group, our Airports team delivers innovative planning and engineering solutions for major airport and heliport projects.

We are looking for an Intermediate Civil Engineer – Airport Infrastructure to contribute to one of the most significant Canadian airport programs of the decade.

In this fully in‑office role, you'll collaborate closely with multidisciplinary experts, providing critical civil engineering insight that directly impacts the success, safety, and long‑term performance of large‑scale airside infrastructure.

Your role
  • Provide expert guidance throughout planning, design, and delivery phases for airside civil design and construction.

  • Ensure full compliance of civil design and construction activities with applicable codes, standards, and technical requirements.

  • Assess and evaluate alternative technical proposals to determine feasibility and alignment with airport client needs.

  • Conduct Facility Alteration Permit (FAP) compliance reviews for renovation, maintenance, and new construction activities.

  • Coordinate technical elements across civil, structural, and architectural disciplines, establishing targets and program goals.

  • Monitor designer deliverables during construction, including RFIs, shop drawings, material reviews, mock‑ups, and punch lists.

  • Prepare management‑level progress briefings highlighting design progress, issues, and opportunities.

  • Support the professional growth of client staff through coaching and mentorship.

About you
  • Demonstrate a minimum of 7 years of experience in civil, site development, construction, or airport engineering with specialized knowledge of airfield pavement structural design.

  • Apply Canadian aerodrome standards (TP312 4th and 5th editions), ICAO, and FAA standards to analyze designs and propose solutions.

  • Possess extensive knowledge of CSA civil design codes, materials, methods, and construction practices.

  • Utilize engineering design software such as MicroStation, Bentley InRoads/OpenRoads, AviPLAN, and AutoTURN.

  • Apply geometric design standards for Ontario highways and contribute to transportation infrastructure design.

  • Use software tools including Bluebeam and Microsoft Office to support documentation, analysis, and communication.

  • Establish, track, and manage schedules and priorities while effectively updating managers and program leads.

  • Engage stakeholders with strong communication skills and facilitate workshops and meetings with large groups.
