This Co-op is a 1 year term starting in September.
What You'll Do:- The AI & Simulation Engineer will be responsible for assisting in the application of FEM (Finite Element Method) to model, simulate, and optimize phenomena observed in Potash Mining, including dust and fluid systems. The 3D Engineer will assist in 3D CAD modelling, reverse engineering, and fabrication via additive manufacturing of parts and tooling to support our Potash Mining operation. Duties of this position include ideation and analysis of prospective FEM applications, identification and gathering of required sensor and 3D data, and conducting in-field measurement of simulation parameters for validation.
- In addition, the role will involve applying machine learning techniques and GPU-accelerated simulation technologies such as NVIDIA PhysX AI to enhance the accuracy and performance of physics-based modelling. This includes integrating AI-driven parameter optimization, predictive modelling, and real-time simulation acceleration into mining-related FEM and CFD workflows.
- Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or Mathematics
- Experience with uses of Finite Element Method, particularly CFD, Chemical Crystallization via PBEs, mechanical FEA, etc.
- Experience working with 3D object models, including mesh and solid object formats
- Experience working with simulation software packages, particularly Ansys
- Experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) for scientific computing and physics-based simulation
- Knowledge of NVIDIA simulation technologies such as PhysX, Omniverse, or CUDA-accelerated physics engines, and their application in engineering simulations
- Familiarity with integrating AI/ML models into physics simulation workflows for prediction, optimization, and real-time analysis
