Job Description: Under the direction of the Manager, the Physical Therapist – Degree – Senior is responsible for developing and maintaining a high standard of physical therapy care in assigned areas. The Physical Therapist- Degree - Senior is responsible for ensuring students assigned receive clinical education of a high standard. The Physical Therapist – Degree - Senior will be responsible for a clinical caseload and providing high quality direct care to patients.. "Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement"

Experience

  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience relevant to the required work and clinical area as determined by the Employer
  • Experience in the area of Lymphedema work is an asset.
  • Complete Decongestive Therapy (CDT) training is an asset

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy

Licenses

  • Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS)

  • Knowledge of Acute Therapy Services.
  • Familiarity with equipment requisitioning processes via SAC, SAIL, NIHB, private vendors and community services groups.
  • Knowledge of determinants of well-being.
  • Demonstrates value and appreciation of distinct qualities of others.
  • Requires coping skills to work with patients dealing with stress, role loss and other psychosocial issues.
  • Demonstrated skills in mentoring, training and clinically supervising staff, students and related disciplines.

Other Information

  • CPR certification Level “C” required.
