As Team Lead, Building Mechanical – Vertical Infrastructure (Water & Wastewater), you will combine technical expertise, people leadership, and client engagement to deliver innovative facilities that support communities and protect vital resources.In this player-coach leadership role, you will guide multidisciplinary project delivery, mentor and develop talented engineers and designers, and contribute directly to the growth of WSP's Building Mechanical practice across the municipal and industrial water sectors. Your work will influence everything from treatment plants and pumping stations to complex process-support facilities that help communities thrive.Your Impact

  • Lead the design and delivery of mechanical building systems for water and wastewater treatment facilities, pumping stations, and related infrastructure.
  • Inspire, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of engineers, designers, and technologists.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions that meet client and community needs.
  • Build trusted client relationships and support strategic growth opportunities across the water sector.
  • Champion technical excellence, quality, and innovation throughout project delivery.
  • Contribute to the advancement of design standards, tools, and best practices across the business.
  • Support the successful execution of projects from planning and design through construction and commissioning.
  • Help shape sustainable infrastructure that improves resiliency and enables future growth.

The Skills That Set You Apart

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in a Canadian jurisdiction.
  • 10+ years of experience delivering mechanical building systems for infrastructure, industrial, municipal, or water/wastewater facilities.
  • Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams and delivering complex multidisciplinary projects.
  • Strong technical expertise in HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, odour control, and process-support mechanical systems.
  • Proficiency with Revit, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Bluebeam, and industry-standard building mechanical design tools.
  • Strong knowledge of NFPA (including NFPA 820), ASHRAE, CSA, ASME, and applicable Provincial and National Building Codes.
  • Proven ability to build client relationships, support business development initiatives, and mentor technical teams.

CompensationAB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $122,900 – $162,800 MB & ON: $112,100 – $154,400 NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $111,000 – $147,400 Disclosure:The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
