Metrolinx is connecting communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. Metrolinx operates GO Transit and UP Express, as well as the PRESTO fare payment system. Our Office is seeking for a Supervisor, Bus Facility Maintenance to provide technical and operational support for GO Transit facilities, equipment, and maintenance programs. Oversee facility operations, custodial services, and tenant support while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. Lead Trades and Cleaning staff, promoting operational excellence through training, emergency preparedness, and continuous improvement initiatives.

What will I be doing?

  • Provides technical expertise during the investigation and correction of assets and equipment problems.
  • Develops, updates, and supports Master Maintenance Schedules for Bus Facility maintenance, and procedures for use by Millwrights, HVAC techs, Electricians, Cleaning staff and maintenance contractors. e.g., safety, regulatory, training etc.
  • Provides instructions and other technical advice/assistance required to support Bus procurement, overhaul/rehab, and retrofit/modification programs.
  • Supports Bus facility equipment development, procurement, and maintenance projects (e.g., prepares business justifications), establishes programs, and monitors the performance of equipment and assets.
  • Maintains facilities and responds to problems as well as the needs of user groups and tenants, to ensure safe, reliable and efficient operation of systems and equipment.
  • Plans and coordinates the day-to-day administrative functions for assigned facilities (e.g. operating and capital budget controls and compliance with safety standards) in accordance with corporate and or legislative standards and the Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) collective agreement.
  • Develops and supervises day-to-day routines and programs for all assigned properties and facilities, monitors staff and contractor adherence to applicable regulatory codes, safety standards and processes
  • Facilitates the operations of the Enterprise Asset Management system, providing asset collection and implementation of EAM system, to ensure conformance of maintenance programs
  • Works with equipment manufacturers and suppliers regarding product, supplies and warranties
  • Liaises with consultants and representatives from municipal, provincial and federal government to identify and address facility and environmental issues.

What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?

  • Completion of the diploma in a related field (e.g. Certificate in Facilities Management, Building Environmental Systems, Business, etc.) – or a combination of education, training, and experience deemed equivalent
  • Demonstrated years of progressive experience in facility operations or facility services with two (2) or more years in supervisory and leadership experience preferably in Facilities Services
  • Certifications or Designations Certifications related to facility management (e.g. Certificate in
  • Facility Management Administrator (FMA), Property Administrator Certificate and Trade Certification) will be considered an asset.
  • A valid Ontario Class “G” driver’s license is required to travel to various site locations (approximately 5%). Must meet and maintain the corporate standards for a good driving record.
