The BIM Coordinator will take part in industrial and mining project operations for the Resources sector and support the Project BIM Manager’s strategy by managing day-to-day BIM-VDC implementation across projects and coordinating model development with discipline design leads. Working closely with design teams, the BIM Coordinator helps resolve interdisciplinary issues, promotes adherence to project BIM requirements, and serves as the primary point of contact for technical BIM support and coordination activities.
Your Impact
Planning

Define the 3D model coordination strategy guided by the BIM Manager.

Coordinate publication schedules and deliverable formats with Design Leads.

Establish the QA/QC process for model coordination.

Set up naming conventions, classifications, and model structure based on Design Lead and SME recommendations.

Configure CDE modules and identify anticipated functional requirements.
-
Centralize BIM documentation and references within the project CDE.
Execution
-
Onboard design teams to the project CDEs.
-
Manage CDE workflows, processes, and access permissions.
-
Support geo-referencing and survey data integration.
-
Coordinate models using automated and manual routines.
-
Manage clash detection, issue tracking, and reporting.
-
Ensure models and federated files comply with quality requirements and BIM standards.

Support 4D and 5D integration activities.

Maintain BIM documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
-
Provide technical and software support to the engineering project team.

Closure
-
Complete final coordination and clash clearance.
-
Support final deliverable reporting and publication.
-
Assist with handover activities and data submission.
-
Archive models and documentation in accordance with quality requirements.
Standardization:
-
Identify reusable content or automation opportunities that should be integrated into sector standards or future project activities.

Transfer improvement opportunities to Digital Solutions standardization representatives.

Collaborate with the BIM Practice Manager to support technology watch activities and test and assess new software or application features.
The skills that set you apart
-
A university or college diploma, or any other training deemed equivalent;
-
5 to 10 years of relevant experience in engineering design, technical drafting, and 3D coordination, preferably in the industrial and/or mining sector;

Applied experience with the following technical disciplines: industrial electrical, piping and industrial process, instrumentation and control, mechanical assembly, and building mechanical systems;

Ability to explain information management workflows clearly;

Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and French;

Compensation
AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YK: $89 800 – 118 900
MB & ON: $81 900 – 112 800
NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $81 100 – 107 700
