Job description:

The Facilities Operations and Buildings Manager supports the mission, vision, and values of St. Paul Lutheran Home through effective leadership, operational excellence, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and supportive environment for residents, patients, staff, and visitors. This role oversees the maintenance, operation, and regulatory compliance of facilities, infrastructure, equipment, and building systems at St. Paul Lutheran Home, St. Peter’s Hospital, and Melville and District Health Centre. Responsibilities include leading maintenance staff, managing operational resources, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of facility assets, and overseeing the implementation and optimization of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to support quality resident and patient care. Licenses

  • Valid Class 5 driver's license

Education

  • 4 th Class Power Engineering certification
  • Fireman Boiler Operator certificate
  • Journeyperson certificate in a building trade or technology program

Competencies

  • Leadership skills such as engagement, communication, and team building

Experience

  • Previous supervisory experience preferred
  • 3-5 years' experience in a related area

Knowledge & Abilities

  • Ability to manage programs within budgetary parameters
  • Ability to prepare reports in a clear, concise and timely manner.
  • Proven ability to collaborate and partner with a wide variety of stakeholders
  • Knowledge of current infection control standards, practices and protocols
  • Commitment to quality, safety, and improvement striving towards zero harm
  • Knowledge of health care standards for Operation and Maintenance of facilities.
  • Makes judgements on the basis of critical thinking and problem solving criteria
  • Ability to lead and coach others

Other Education & Training

  • Undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
