Detailed Overview

Supporting the Vision, Values, Purpose and Commitments of Fraser Health including service delivery that is centered around patients/clients/residents and families:
The Leader, Trauma and Resiliency Informed Practice (TRIP), within Mental Health and Substance Use Services, provides strategic leadership, subject matter expertise, research, evaluation, and project management to advance Trauma and Resiliency Informed Practice across the portfolio. In collaboration with clinical and operational leaders, the role oversees the implementation, coordination, and long term sustainability of TRIP initiatives throughout Fraser Health and its contracted and external partners. The Leader conducts monitoring, reporting, research, and evaluation activities to ensure fidelity to emerging best practices in workplace wellness, safety, and stigma reduction. The position also identifies, secures, and manages funding and cost recovery opportunities to support the continued development, expansion, and sustainability of TRIP across the organization.


Responsibilities
  1. Supports the development, implementation, and sustainability of TRIP by coordinating, planning, and prioritizing activities across the organization. Develops timelines, allocates and manages resources, and oversees the execution of change management plans to ensure effective and consistent adoption of TRIP initiatives.
  2. Establishes project charters, objectives, timelines, and critical paths; leads collaboration with partners and engages appropriate resources to support effective project delivery. Oversees the facilitation of project activities, monitors progress, resolves issues, and provides recommendations to the senior leadership team.
  3. Provides consultation, education, and support to enable the integrated knowledge translation of evidence generated through TRIP implementation, contributing to the advancement of practice and the enhancement of health service delivery.
  4. Identifies key strategies and provides oversight for their implementation, including timelines, progress, accountabilities, and budget. Leads partners toward the achievement of TRIP goals by effectively communicating the project vision, coordinating resources, advancing priorities, and fostering collaboration and commitment among key stakeholders.
  5. Develops and strengthens external partnerships with community organizations, government bodies, educational institutions, other health regions, and health related agencies to support the exchange of information and ideas. Ensures that actions and policy development are integrated, responsive, and aligned with Fraser Health’s TRIP goals and the evidence generated through its implementation.
  6. Collaborates with Fraser Health Legal Services to develop, monitor, and manage agreements governing the use of TRIP materials by external partners, ensuring alignment with TRIP goals and supporting long term sustainability.
  7. Pursues, develops, and maintains research and knowledge translation partnerships to address identified knowledge gaps and support the advancement of TRIP related evidence and practice.
  8. Represents TRIP and Fraser Health on committees and advisory groups, contributing subject matter expertise and advancing organizational priorities. Supports Fraser Health’s web and social media presence by providing content expertise and ensuring alignment with TRIP goals and evidence informed practices.
  9. Monitors funding opportunities, assists in recruiting partners, and manages the development and submission of proposals. Develops contracts, monitors consultant performance, and oversees reporting requirements for funded projects to ensure accountability and alignment with TRIP goals.
  10. Scans and synthesizes literature and projects related to TRIP, workplace wellness, safety, stigma, and other TRIP related knowledge areas, including human health and health system impacts, vulnerability and risk assessment, equity, change management, implementation science, research, monitoring and evaluation, and intersectoral action. Summarizes and communicates key findings to Fraser Health leaders, staff, and community partners to inform evidence informed decision making and practice.
  11. Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in a health or social science field, plus a minimum ten (10) years of recent, related experience in leadership/management role, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex organizational change within a health care environment, applying strong project and change management methodologies to achieve targets and objectives.
  • Advanced knowledge of trauma and trauma informed practices, stigma, health impacts, equity, resiliency, and adaptation strategies, with the ability to integrate this expertise into policy, practice, and partnership development.
  • Proven ability to build and sustain strategic partnerships across regional, provincial, federal, Indigenous, and community sectors. Skilled in engaging partners through committees, meetings, and workshops, and integrating feedback into project activities.
  • Strong ability to conduct and synthesize research from diverse sources—including scientific literature, government reports, data repositories, and consultations—and translate findings into actionable insights, technical reports, and accessible materials.
  • Skilled in organizing and facilitating large and small meetings, workshops, and focus groups, and synthesizing discussions into concrete outputs. Able to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently with minimal direction.

  • Demonstrated experience in proposal development, contract and grant agreement management, budget oversight, and monitoring consultant performance.
  • Expertise in monitoring, reporting, and evaluation, including indicator development and performance measurement.
  • Highly motivated, self directed, organized, and able to prioritize work, manage competing deadlines, and adapt to shifting priorities. Demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships across organizational levels.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
