About the Job
This is a permanent position that offers a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week. As a Machinist, you will play a crucial role in our manufacturing and repair processes, ensuring that every component meets our high standards of excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Compute dimensions and tolerances of machine parts.
- Measure and lay out work pieces in preparation for assembly.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts, and tables.
- Set up and adjust production machinery and tools.
- Fit and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerances.
- Maintain, repair, and calibrate precision measuring instruments.
- Document and report deviations from specifications and tolerances.
- Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports.
- Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers).
- Set up and operate conventional and computer-controlled machine tools.
Requirements
- Education: Other trades certificate or diploma.
- Experience: 1 to less than 7 months in a related field.
- Language: English.
- Work Setting: Experience in aviation/aerospace manufacturing, repair, and general manufacturing.
- Certificates: Machinist Trade Certification, Tool and Die Maker Trade Certification, Machinist Red Seal Endorsement, Tool and Die Maker Red Seal Certificate.
Tools and Equipment
- Experience with micrometers, calipers, gauges, and verniers.
- Familiarity with cylindrical grinders, drill presses, milling machines, universal grinders, and CNC machines.
Work Conditions
