About the Job
As a Licensed Practical Nurse at our facility, you will be a vital part of our surgical team, providing critical support in both the operating and recovery rooms. Your role will involve a variety of tasks essential to patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer medications and ensure infection control protocols are followed
- Prepare patients for surgery by washing, shaving, and sterilizing operative areas
- Take vital signs and assist with pre-operative and post-operative personal care
- Provide technical assistance to surgeons by laying out instruments and setting up equipment
- Pass instruments to surgeons and assist surgical teams with gowns and gloves
- Deliver nursing services based on patient assessment and care planning procedures
Qualifications
Education
- Completion of College/CEGEP
Certificates and Licenses
- Eligible for licensure as a practical nurse by the province/territory of work
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certificate
Experience
