About the role: Operates and maintains mechanical, electrical and instrumentation related systems used in the operations of the Municipality’s wastewater treatment facilities, including lift stations, in an efficient manner. Must be available for on-call work on a scheduled basis for after-hour emergencies. Salary range: $32.54- $37.09 per hour based on 40 hours per week, plus standby pay. This is a permanent full-time unionized position.

- Minimum two years post-secondary education diploma as Electrical Mechanical Technician, OR one year post-secondary in an Industrial trade such as Mechanical, Pipefitting, Electrical or similar plus one-year experience working at the trade, OR a combination of experience and education in the wastewater collection and maintenance field.
- Ability to obtain Operator In-Training certification within 6 months from date of hire.
- Ability to obtain Wastewater Collection Level 1 certification within 1 year from date of hire.
- Have a valid Nova Scotia Driver’s License, and can produce a satisfactory driver’s abstract and criminal record check.
