Job Summary: VITALL is looking to add temporary technology resources to its growing and accomplished quality team. The successful candidate will be a Software QA Intern who is passionate about making health information meaningful for patients and their circle of care. This is an outstanding opportunity for the right candidate to define themselves as a core contributor to the consumer health industry and set themselves up for a successful career in health information management and health technology.
The Software QA Intern will participate in the understanding, validating, and verifying intended software meets the stringent quality requirements. They will be part of a cross-functional team that’s responsible for the full software development lifecycle, from conception to deployment. The overall objective of this role is to validate VITALL’s client-facing applications as new features are added to ensure the features work as expected. The QA Intern will be vital in maintaining VITALL’s high degree of excellence through ensuring bugs and issues are caught before clients do, improving client experience.
You have a keen eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and are competent in executing test cases and passionate about quality. You can think from the consumers’ perspective and empathize with their concerns while using the software.
Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze system specifications
- Collaborate with developers to create effective strategies and test plans
- Execute test cases (manual or automated) and analyze results
- Create logs to document testing phases and defects
- Report bugs and errors to development teams
- Help troubleshoot issues
- Conduct post-release/ post-implementation testing
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle
- Maintain strict confidentiality of records, client information, and company information
- Ensure ongoing compliance with quality and industry regulatory requirements
- Participate in regular privacy and security training
- Adherence to company policies, following all privacy and security protocols
- Other job-related duties may be assigned as required
Qualifications: Required:
- Currently pursuing Bachelor’s Degree in Health Informatics or Health Science or equivalent streams in a reputed University based in Ontario
- Previous internship experience in software business management and product management
- Ability to document and troubleshoot errors
- Familiarity with Agile frameworks is an asset
- Analytical mind and problem-solving aptitude
- Strong organizational skills, and meticulous attention to detail
- Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Proven history of excelling in a team-based, collaborative environment
- Previous internship experience in the Health Technology Industry
- Previous internship experience in Software Quality Assurance team
