SummaryWe are seeking a safety-first, versatile Carpenter (Certified or Non-Certified) to join our team across the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley. If you are a candidate with a strong background in deficiency work and finishing carpentry, and are a true "Jack of All Trades" who prioritizes workplace safety above all else, this role offers excellent variety. You will perform a wide range of general carpentry, finishing carpentry, and deficiency-related work, including drywall repairs, taping, painting, tiling, trim installation, and other finishing tasks across various job sites. A valid driver’s license is mandatory for this position. This role is employed through CLAC, and membership will be required once hired. Key Responsibilities
- At least three years of previous construction experience working on commercial, residential, or institutional.
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications; layout and mark materials accordingly.
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join building materials (wood, metal, engineered materials) using hand and power tools.
- Build and install formwork for concrete, structural framing, subfloors, walls, roofs, and temporary works per plans and code.
- Perform finish carpentry: install doors, windows, trim, cabinets, mouldings and hardware to finish standards.
- Install sheathing, siding, insulation, and vapour barriers as specified.
- Set and adjust scaffolding, shoring, bracing and fall protection equipment; ensuring compliance with WorkSafeBC and site rules.
- Diagnose and resolve on-site construction/fit issues; propose solutions to lead/foreman.
- Train, instruct and supervise apprentices or uncertified carpenters when assigned.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and secure jobsite housekeeping and material protection.
- Complete daily logs, material tickets, and time reports; assist with quality checks and snagging.
- Participate in site safety meetings, follow all safety procedures, and report hazards or incidents immediately.
- Must be comfortable performing multiple different roles, including laborer duties, and tasks related to construction

- Several years (typically 3–5+) of carpentry experience on commercial and/or residential projects.
- Certificate of Qualification (Red Seal) as a Carpenter or equivalent provincial journeyperson certification preferred.
- BC SiteReady and Fall Protection required.
- Strong blueprint reading, layout, measurement and trade-math skills.
- Willing and able to perform physically demanding work including the ability to lift to 50lbs
- Able to use hand power tools, work at heights and in variable weather.
- Independent problem solving and trade judgement.
- High-quality workmanship and attention to detail.
- Accountability for safety and compliance.
