Principal Responsibilities and Accountabilities· Lead daily shipping and receiving activities for oversized, specialized, and customer-critical components.· Coordinate and arrange carriers for incoming and outgoing shipments, including oversized freight, complex loads, and time-sensitive deliveries.· Oversee the safe and efficient operation of shipping and receiving equipment, including forklifts, overhead cranes, weight scales, pallet trucks, and related material-handling equipment.· Receive, inspect, stage, pick, pack, and prepare orders in accordance with customer specifications, production priorities, and internal quality standards.· Verify shipment information against bills of lading, invoices, purchase orders, work orders, packing slips, and other shipping or receiving documentation.· Prepare, maintain, and review accurate records for all incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring documentation is complete, compliant, and readily available.· Act as a key point of contact for carriers, internal production teams, customers, and management regarding shipment status, delivery timing, freight requirements, and documentation.· Support inventory accuracy through organized staging, material identification, warehouse controls, and timely communication of discrepancies.· Prioritize workload and daily department requirements with minimal supervision while supporting acceptable production levels and operational flow.· Provide guidance and support to less experienced team members on shipping, receiving, documentation, material handling, and safe work practices.· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area by performing general housekeeping, 5S activities, and equipment cleaning duties as required.· Perform general labour and warehouse duties as required to support production, inventory control, and customer delivery commitments.· Demonstrate strong customer/client service, professionalism, and clear communication with internal and external stakeholders.· Complete other duties as assigned by management.· Lift up to 50 lbs when necessary and perform physical tasks associated with shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations.
Experience and KnowledgeCBB manufactures complex bearings and associated components from materials that are typically difficult to machine. Understanding and experience in a specialized manufacturing, heavy industrial, machine shop, or engineered component environment is a significant asset.· Minimum 7 years of progressive shipping and receiving experience in a fast-paced manufacturing, industrial, or heavy equipment environment.· Recent, hands-on experience coordinating large, oversized, or non-standard shipments; experience beyond standard palletized freight is required.· Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple shipments, carriers, priorities, and documentation requirements with accuracy and urgency.· Strong knowledge of bills of lading, invoices, purchase orders, packing slips, freight documentation, receiving processes, and shipment verification procedures.· Proven ability to work independently, make sound day-to-day decisions, and support department priorities with minimal supervision.· Experience providing guidance, direction, or informal leadership to other shipping, receiving, warehouse, or production support employees is an asset.· Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.· Effective communication and customer service skills with the ability to work professionally with carriers, customers, production teams, and management.· Valid forklift certification is preferred; overhead crane certification is a strong asset.· Commitment to safe work practices, 5S standards, equipment care, and continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment.AI is not used in the recruitment process.This posting is to fill an existing vacancy.
