Responsibilities
- Manage inbound quotation requests from our established customer base, including day-to-day pricing inquiries and larger commercial, institutional, and industrial project bids.
- Review electrical drawings, specifications, schedules, single-line diagrams, addenda, and other tender documents to identify project requirements and quoting opportunities.
- Prepare quotations for transformers and accessories, including standard, modified, and custom-engineered solutions.
- Work with customers, manufacturer partners, and internal technical experts to clarify specifications, identify approved products, and develop practical alternatives.
- Request and evaluate vendor pricing, lead times, freight requirements, commercial terms, and technical information.
- Ensure quotations are accurate, complete, competitive, and submitted within established deadlines.
- Clearly identify inclusions, exclusions, assumptions, alternates, and other commercial or technical considerations within each quotation.
- Coordinate revisions in response to addenda, scope changes, value-engineering requests, and customer feedback.
- Follow up consistently on quotations and project bids to understand status, address outstanding questions, and improve close rates.
- Support the transition of successful quotations to order processing, project management, and technical teams.
- Develop a strong working knowledge of our manufacturers, products, applications, and the electrical distribution and transformer market.
- Contribute to demand generation by identifying product opportunities and recommending complementary solutions and services.
- Maintain accurate and timely records in the company’s CRM, helping improve the customer experience and our understanding of market needs.
- Build strong, trusted relationships with customers, vendor partners, and colleagues.
- Participate in product training and pursue ongoing technical and professional development.
- Experience preparing quotations, estimates, or project bids in the electrical industry is strongly preferred.
- Experience working for an electrical contractor, electrical distributor, manufacturer, or manufacturer’s representative is an asset.
- Education or experience in electrical engineering or electrical engineering technology is an asset.
- Familiarity with transformers, electrical distribution equipment, electrical drawings, specifications, and tender documents is an asset.
- Strong numerical ability and attention to technical and commercial detail.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- High energy, initiative, and a determined approach to problem-solving.
- Strong organizational, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to balance technical compliance, customer value, and competitive pricing.
- Confidence communicating with customers, contractors, engineers, manufacturers, and internal stakeholders.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft 365 suite.
- Experience with a CRM platform such as Salesforce or HubSpot is an asset.
