Steele’s is an asset-based business which utilizes a fleet of dedicated equipment that is company-owned assets and owner-operator-owned equipment working as subcontractors along with carrier partners to provide safe, timely and competitive freight delivery services throughout Alberta. Our main area of service occurs in the busy corridor between Calgary – Red Deer – Edmonton, and we do have staff and/or drivers based in each one of these major cities.

Job Title: Sales Coordinator
Job Summary:
The Sales Coordinator supports the sales function by coordinating inbound customer requests, preparing quotes and sales documentation, maintaining accurate customer and opportunity records, and ensuring timely follow-up with customers, Sales, Pricing, Operations, and Finance. The role focuses on customer responsiveness, lead qualification, proactive prospecting, and sales administration, including the timely follow-up of new business opportunities and sales leads, to support customer retention, seamless onboarding, and revenue growth across Alberta.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Inbound Requests, Lead Coordination & Qualification
· Receive, review, and coordinate inbound customer requests, online inquiries, spot quotes, and sales leads in a timely and professional manner.· Qualify customer needs by gathering required shipment, service, pricing, and account information before routing opportunities to the appropriate Sales, Pricing, or Operations contact.· Support targeted outreach campaigns and follow-up on assigned leads to keep opportunities current and documented.· Maintain accurate lead, quote, and customer information so the sales team has complete and reliable records for follow-up and reporting.
2. Quote, Order & Sales Administration
· Prepare, coordinate, and issue customer quotations using approved pricing guidance and required service specifications.· Assist Sales and Pricing with rate requests, product or service research, quote revisions, and technical order information.· Complete required sales forms, customer-facing documents, order details, and internal records to support accurate processing and handoff.· Track open quotes and coordinate follow-up actions to support timely customer decisions and next steps.
3. Customer Relationship Management
· Maintain complete CRM records, customer files, reports, and follow-up notes for leads, quotes, opportunities, and account activity.· Respond to customer questions, clarify service requirements, and coordinate with internal teams on capacity, scheduling, delivery dates, and shipping updates.· Support customer onboarding and after-sales follow-up by ensuring required documentation, account details, and service expectations are communicated accurately.· Build positive customer relationships through timely communication, issue escalation, and consistent administrative support.
4. Collaboration with Other Teams
· Coordinate with Sales, Pricing, Operations, and Finance to support accurate pricing, customer setup, onboarding, billing readiness, and service execution.· Escalate customer issues, service concerns, and missing information to the appropriate internal owner for resolution.· Share customer feedback, recurring service themes, and market observations with Sales, Operations, and leadership as required.
Education and Experience Requirements:
· 2+ years’ experience in sales coordination, customer service, logistics, inside sales support, or a related administrative support role preferred.· Post-secondary diploma or degree in business administration, sales, marketing, logistics, or a related field is preferred.· Proficient in Microsoft Office, CRM systems, email tools, and related business systems used to track customer, quote, and sales activity.· Experience preparing customer documentation, tracking follow-ups, maintaining records, and supporting quote or order administration.· Experience in LTL, trucking, transportation, or logistics is an asset.
Qualifications/Skills (Profile):
· Customer-focused communicator with the ability to gather requirements, clarify service needs, and provide timely updates.· Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple quotes, follow-ups, records, and administrative priorities accurately.· Strong coordination skills and ability to work effectively with Sales, Pricing, Operations, Finance, customers, and external partners.· Comfortable using CRM systems, Microsoft Office, email, and business systems to maintain accurate customer and opportunity information.· Able to prioritize time-sensitive requests, escalate issues appropriately, and follow through on commitments.· Professional, collaborative, and able to work independently while supporting team goals.
