Ghost Actor (Tour Guide)

As a Ghost Actor (Tour Guide), you will help bring Kingston's haunted history to life as part of the Kingston Trolley Tours Ghost & Mystery Tour team. This unique role combines immersive character acting and storytelling to create unforgettable experiences for guests exploring Kingston's local lore and ghostly tales.
Ideal candidates are comfortable performing in costume, staying in character, and creating memorable, immersive experiences for guests. This is a casual contract position offering up to 15 hours per week. Evening and weekend availability is required.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment.
• Strong verbal communication skills in English.
• Proficiency in other languages is an asset.
• The ability to perform in front of and engage the audience routinely.
• Background in or passion for history is an asset.
• Background or experience in theatre, acting, improvisation, or performance is an asset.
• Weekend and evenings availability

Responsibilities:

• Portray one of Kingston's famous ghostly figures through costumed character performance.
• Memorize a written script and continuously evolve storytelling technique.
• Develop and continually improve storytelling skills, conveying rich, engaging oral stories.
• Learn and convey detailed and accurate information about Kingston, including the city’s history, attractions and current events.
• Use electronic communications and audio equipment, including sound levels on board and other computerized equipment.
• Work outdoors and on board vehicles/vessels in a variety of weather conditions.
• Interact with guests from all over the world, anticipating their needs and ensuring they have the best experience possible in our destination.

This role may expand to assist Kingston Trolley Tours and Kingston 1000 Islands Cruises with onboard tour guiding.
