Why You’ll Love This RoleThe Talent Acquisition Specialist is an exciting growth opportunity for someone with 2-4 years experience in recruitment roles (preferably in tech sector/education sector recruitment). The Talent Acquisition Specialist plays an integral part in all Circuit Stream recruitment activities, including Head Office internal roles, Adult Bootcamp Instructor roles AND the large-scale and growth recruitment/onboarding of seasonal Pre-University Instructors, Teaching Assistants and Youth Experience Coordinators. This is an individual contributor role that reports to the Director of Talent & Outcomes. Key Responsibilities
- Review a large volume of resumes for posted roles for Head Office roles, Adult Bootcamp Instructor roles and Pre-University Course Instructor, Teaching Assistant and Coordinator roles and match these to the job requirements to create a short list of candidates to screen.
- Proactively search, build pipelines/database and reach out to potential candidates via LinkedIn, University connections, industry networks and events and other head-hunting style outreach to build a pipeline for each role well in advance of hiring.
- Use University job boards, industry job boards and other recruitment networks to search and reach interesting candidates.
- Interview candidates using screening questions, taking detailed notes and updating the ATS.
- Set up teaching demos/second interviews with hiring team colleagues.
- Support the pre-onboarding process for new Instructors including background checks, systems access, relevant forms, etc.
- Complete grant applications for Teaching Assistants and Youth Experience Coordinators who are eligible for Work Integrated Learning grants in Canada.
- Collect relevant details from selected candidates and helping to prepare job offers and contracts.
- Set up training/orientations for new Instructors and support staff.
- Assist with additional instructor support as required.
- Bachelor of Commerce in Human Resources or Bachelor of Arts/Science in Psychology or or similar.
- 2+ years experience in talent acquisition, preference will be given to candidates with previous experience recruiting for technical/business roles, especially in the education sector (e.g. instructors and teaching assistants).
- Previous work experience in a recruitment agency environment (head-hunting and building pipelines from scratch) is preferred.
- Experience with high volume seasonal recruitment campaigns (e.g. 60-80 roles in 3-5 month period)
- Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (HUMI or similar)
- Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets, Word/Google Docs, PowerPoint/Google Slides
- Previous experience developing interview questions, conducting screening interviews, writing interview summaries, connecting with hiring managers, conducting reference checks, setting up new hire workflow, etc.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Extreme attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage a wide variety of issues simultaneously
- Ability to work full time and fully on-site at our office in Calgary
