Fitness Attendant

Job SummaryFitness Attendants are responsible for monitoring fitness, recreation, and club areas daily, while providing exceptional customer service to all the membership and their guests. Attendants are the front line of the recreation department and committed to assisting in maintaining standards, procedures, and policies within the Recreation department.The applicant must have weekday evening availability.Duties and Responsibilities• Monitoring, collecting data, and aiding in the fitness centre, strength and conditioning room, main gymnasium, activity room, badminton, tennis, curling, and pickleball. Other departments might require assistance when needed.• Cleaning, sanitizing, and collecting laundry within the fitness areas.• Conduct daily opening and/or closing procedures, provide insight, and track needs as necessary.• Provide support for management, contractors, and instructors when needed.• Using computer software and programs to aid department or members with registration, enrollment, or cancellation for programs and classes. Staying up to date on current events and schedules.• Providing feedback on operational tasks, questions or concerns received from membership or instructors, passing essential information to supervisors, and communicating with coworkers on key information.• Other duties as required.Education and Experience• Currently enrolled or graduated from Sports related post-secondary program (Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Sports Administration, Personal Training, etc.)• Current First and CPR certification• Working within a membership-based organization or field is considered as asset.• Previous fitness experience in a gym or club is considered an asset.• Intermediate to Advanced communication skills (verbal and written).• Self- starter and high level of organization skills.• Creative problem solver, solid decision making skills, and can adapt as the situations change.• Confident conflict resolution skills.• Knowledge of gyms, equipment, and maintenance.Why Work with Us• Staff meals• Competitive wages• Training & Development• Pro Shop Discounts• Diverse and Welcoming Work CultureLearn more about us by visiting - https://www.derrickclub.com/Our_Club/Testimonials
