Position Overview:DTM is seeking an Inside Sales Representative to support our panel manufacturing business by preparing quotations, sourcing components, and serving as a key point of contact for customers throughout the RFQ process. This role works closely with customers, suppliers, engineering, and production teams to ensure accurate pricing, timely responses, and successful project execution.The ideal candidate has experience with industrial control panels, electrical components, or technical sales and enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. - Review customer RFQs, specifications, and drawings.
- Prepare accurate and competitive quotations for industrial control panel builds.
- Develop material and labor cost estimates based on project requirements.
- Maintain quote records and track opportunities through the sales process.
- Follow up on submitted quotations and support the conversion of opportunities into orders.
- Obtain pricing, availability, and lead-time information from suppliers and distributors.
- Identify suitable alternative components when preferred products are unavailable or have extended lead times.
- Work with engineering and customers to approve substitutions when required.
- Monitor market conditions and supply chain challenges that may impact project pricing or delivery.
- Serve as a primary contact for customers regarding RFQs, quotations, lead times, and project inquiries.
- Respond promptly to customer questions and requests for information.
- Coordinate with engineering, purchasing, and production teams to ensure customer requirements are clearly understood and addressed.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships through professional and responsive service.
- Collaborate with internal teams to improve quoting tools, processes, and cost models.
- Assist in maintaining standard pricing databases, labor estimates, and component libraries.
- Identify opportunities to improve quote accuracy, consistency, and turnaround times.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the sales and estimating process.
What You Bring: Required
- 2+ years of experience in inside sales, estimating, purchasing, or a related technical role.
- Understanding of industrial control panels, electrical components, or electrical manufacturing.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and specifications.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP/CRM systems.
- Experience in control panel manufacturing or electrical assembly.
- Familiarity with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider, Eaton, Phoenix Contact, or similar industrial product lines.
- Experience sourcing electrical components and managing supplier relationships.
- Knowledge of estimating and costing practices within a manufacturing environment.
