Production Supervisor

Your Challenge
We are currently seeking a Production Supervisor to join our local team in Courtice, Ontario. Not only will you be given an opportunity to help bring local infrastructure projects to life; but you will also have a chance to collaborate with an amazing team.
Your Responsibilities
The Production Supervisor is responsible for managing a diverse unionized manufacturing team and to properly organizing staff members to achieve a reasonable work flow throughout the shift.

• Help manufacturing staff achieve company goals by communicating expectations, planning, monitoring, and evaluating job results
• Enforce and document employee compliance with company policies and guidelines
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment for all employees
• Discipline employees as policy and procedure dictates
• Train and assess employees
• Advise on cost-saving strategies and techniques
• Ensures that production plans are completed by a certain time documenting issues as they occur
• Contact appropriate vendors/services for repair issues
• Counsel employees on how to achieve an optimal output or workflow
• Resolve issues and disputes between manufacturing employees
• Communicate with and assist other manufacturing departments as needed
• Evaluate and report on the condition of production equipment

The Skills & Knowledge You Bring

• Previous supervisory experience in a unionized manufacturing environment required
• Knowledge or previous experience in house construction or carpentry framing and asset but not required.
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to track production levels
• Broad knowledge of production processes
• Strategic planning skills
• Comfortable working in a unionized manufacturing environment
• Understanding of various machine controls and instrumentation
