Job Details:
We are looking for a STEM Summer Camp Instructor who is excited to teach, guide, and inspire kids ages 6–13 through hands-on engineering, coding, science, and creative technology activities. This role is ideal for a senior undergraduate student, recent graduate, or early-career STEM generalist who loves working with kids and can bring energy, patience, and curiosity into the classroom every day.
This role will take place over the duration of Summer 2026 from July 13 to August 21 at Strathcona-Tweedsmuir School near Okotoks (98136 24 St W #20, Foothills County, AB T1S 7A4). Candidates will need their own car to commute daily.

What You’ll Be Doing:
- Deliver hands-on STEM camp lessons for kids ages 6–13 using provided curriculum, materials, and activities
- Create a fun, safe, and welcoming classroom environment where every student feels included and supported
- Explain technical concepts in a simple, age-appropriate way that keeps kids engaged
- Guide students through projects, challenges, and activities in engineering, robotics, coding and general STEM themes
- Encourage curiosity, teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving throughout the camp day
- Support classroom routines, transitions, setup, cleanup, and basic student supervision
- Communicate professionally with camp staff and escalate student, safety, or classroom concerns when needed
- Prepare for each day by reviewing lesson plans, materials, and activity instructions in advance
- Currently completing or recently completed a degree or diploma in engineering, computer science, education, science, math, technology, or a related STEM field
- Genuine passion for teaching kids — you enjoy working with children and know how to bring warmth, patience, and energy into the room
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain concepts clearly to young learners
- Positive, coachable attitude — you are willing to learn, take feedback, and prepare well
- Comfortable leading a classroom, keeping students engaged, and maintaining a safe learning environment
- Basic STEM confidence: you do not need to be an expert in every topic, but you should be comfortable learning and teaching beginner-friendly STEM activities
- Reliable, organized, and professional — parents, students, and staff can count on you
