POSITION SUMMARY:
We’re looking for a self-driven and motivated Industrial Millwright to join our team at our Innovation Hub in Burnaby, BC. This role will support the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and improvement of our lab and pilot scale equipment. You will be involved in hands-on mechanical work, machining, piping, documentation, and collaboration with our Operations and Technology teams. At Nano One, we offer a collaborative and supportive work environment, committed to promoting a culture of safety and well-being in the workplace. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Equipment Installation & Improvements
  • Install, align, commission, and modify machinery and mechanical systems
  • Support shutdowns, start-ups, and equipment improvement projects
  • Complete required documentation for installations and modifications
Maintenance, Troubleshooting & Repair
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance, inspections, and adjustments
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and fluid system issues
  • Conduct changeovers, setups, and part replacements; interpret drawings and schematics
Fabrication, Machining & Piping
  • Use manual machining tools (lathe, mill, drill press) to fabricate or adjust parts
  • Apply basic welding principles and install/repair process, gas, and water piping
Documentation, Inventory & Communication
  • Maintain accurate maintenance and equipment/cost logs
  • Keep ticketing system up to date
  • Monitor spare parts inventory and initiate orders as needed
  • Support contractors as required

Safety & Compliance
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment and follow all safety procedures
  • Participate in hazard assessments and safety initiatives
  • Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and similar equipment
  • Ensure all work complies with applicable codes, standards, and regulations

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Post-secondary training toward a Trades Qualification (TQ) or equivalent industry experience
  • Experience in pulp and paper, chemical processing, power engineering, or industrial refrigeration/HVAC is an asset
  • Mechanic/Millwright license preferred, Red Seal is an asset
  • Ability to read mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical diagrams
  • Experience with manual machining tools and basic understanding of welding principles
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Forklift/scissor lift certification and CMMS experience is an asset
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong process-driven approach focused on following established procedures and continuously seeking improvements
