Circuit Stream is a leader in future technology skills training and learning content. We offer world-class educational services for teen and adult learners with a focus on the skills needed to leverage immersive and emerging technology.
We are seeking a passionate Robotics programmer with a deep understanding of LEGO SPIKE, Outer Space, and programming skills, to instruct our Robotics: Build a Rover with LEGO® Summer programs for learners aged 9-12. Students will be learning the basics of Rover Design with SPIKE. Learners will acquire the foundational knowledge and skills necessary to create their own Rover Design with Sensors and Programming. The ideal instructor candidates for this course should possess a strong foundation in LEGO SPIKE, STEM Courses, as well as some teaching, TA or training experience.
Robotics: Build a Rover with LEGO® is a 1 week course that will be offered 6 times in July and August in-person in Calgary, in partnership with Mount Royal University Camps at their campus. Instructors hired to teach this course must be available from 8:00am-4:30pm MT from July 7 to August 21 (plus 1 week in June for training).
Candidates selected for interviews will be contacted starting in January 2026. Responsibilities
  • Lead engaging and comprehensive classroom sessions with youth learners following Circuit Stream's Robotics: Build a Rover with LEGO® course curriculum provided
  • Provide constructive feedback, guidance, and mentorship to students as they ideate, develop, and iterate on their project.
  • Showcase proficiency in LEGO SPIKE/ LEGO SPIKE Essential Hub and robotics building concepts.
  • Share real-world experiences, case studies, and insights to offer students a holistic understanding of the field.

Requirements
  • Availability to teach during the day (between the hours of 8am an 4:30pm MT) in Summer 2026
  • Previous professional experience in Robotics, and experience working with LEGO SPIKE
  • Degree, diploma or final year studies in Computer Science or related discipline
  • Proficiency in The LEGO SPIKE Essential hub
  • Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to convey complex concepts in an accessible and engaging manner
  • Innate logical thinking and the ability to inspire and nurture logical thinking in students
  • A passion for guiding and mentoring students, fostering their growth, and providing meaningful feedback
  • Willingness to adapt to evolving curriculum needs, industry trends, and emerging technologies
  • A collaborative attitude, eager to contribute to a positive and supportive team environment
  • A proactive attitude towards ongoing professional development and a willingness to learn and stay up-to-date with industry advancements
  • A strong portfolio of relevant work to showcase your skills and experience
  • Previous teaching, mentoring, TA or tutoring experience is desirable but not required
