The Account Executive leads our clients and our teams towards our strategic business focuses. This is a role that is equal parts account management and client services, and requires a ton of working with people—both internally and externally—as you will be acting as the client’s point of contact within the agency. Account Executive are incredible at relationship-building, have a strong work ethic, a positive, high-energy attitude, and crystal clear, direct communication style.
After 6 months, you will have demonstrated a high potential to grow within the company. You will be able to unite and rally multiple teams, stakeholders and clients along a rarely-straight line. You will have commanded respect, trust and confidence via on-the-fly critical thinking that leads us to successful work.
On a day-to-day basis, the Account Executive will be responsible for:
Leadership:
  • Ownership of specific client projects, overall account administration, financial reporting
  • Proactively flagging issues and opportunities to manager
  • Embracing your role through initiative, proactivity and ownership.

Business Partnering:
  • Articulating a clear and persuasive POV
  • Representing Academy in a professional manner at all times to partners, clients, and vendors
  • Contributing to competitive intelligence gatherings and reporting, admin, and status meetings

Account Management:
  • Ensuring that all account management best practices are followed (contact reports, status reports, etc)
  • Owning and enforcing scopes of work, budgets, schedules, deliverables and project goals.
  • Contributing to planning/setting budgets, creating budget trackers, staying informed across all budgetary matters
  • Leading projects with great attention to detail
  • Understanding client preferences and styles in the way they work, including documentation, status formats, deck builds, etc.
  • Working closely with the Account Coordinator and overseeing their tasks
  • Embracing your role through initiative, proactivity and ownership.
  • Leading client comms & facilitating larger meetings with multiple parties and stakeholders

Strategic Thinking:
  • Contributing to the strategic direction of accounts by participating in brainstorms, briefings and kickoffs
  • Demonstrating an understanding to the “why” behind tasks and projects
  • Actively engage in collaborative strategic planning with cross-functional teams, working to align agency capabilities with client needs and objectives

Collaboration & Relationships:
  • Contributing to and working to build strong, trusting, and proactive relationships; both internally and with clients
  • A growing understanding and demonstration of critical thinking: does the work benefit the brand and the agency? Is the work integrated with our strategy on the account? Are we working efficiently?

Mentoring/Development:
  • Working closely with junior team members: assigning tasks, overseeing deliverables, and offering guidance through learning opportunities

Creative Championing:
  • Developing the first draft of a creative brief
  • Ensuring creative projects run smoothly by proactively developing workbacks and internal reviews

Skillful Communication:
  • Commanding meetings in a productive, enthusiastic manner.
  • Fostering collaboration and teamwork with clients through open and constructive dialogue, encouraging feedback

The Account Executive will also routinely demonstrate the following:

  • 2-3 years of experience

Start Date: January 3rd, 2023Salary: $65K annuallyLocation: Toronto-based hybrid role. Benefits:
