- Placing and sizing of distribution systems and equipment following industry standards and
- Perform load calculations using the company-provided software.
- Selection of mechanical equipment working directly with suppliers and manufacturers.
- Preparation of schematic design, design development and construction documents in either AutoCAD or REVIT, and adhere to Reinbold Design Standards and Guidelines.
- Assist with Contract Administration, including shop drawing review, RFI responses and on-site review.
- May attend design and construction meetings with the client, other consultants and the contractors.
Experience & Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering and accreditation as a Professional Engineer: P. Eng. or PE in the jurisdiction in which they are working is an asset.
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant industry experience.
- Canadian experience in mechanical HVAC and Plumbing design is a must
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including plumbing, HVAC, heating, cooling, and air handlers. Ability to interpret construction drawings.
- Strong knowledge of current codes and standards, such as the local plumbing and local building codes.
- Experience using building heating and cooling load calculations.
- Understanding of software programs (Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, REVIT).
