Benefits:
Clio is the global leader in legal AI technology, empowering legal professionals and law firms of every size to work smarter, faster, and more securely.
We are transforming the legal experience for all by bettering the lives of legal professionals while increasing access to justice.
Summary:SummaryClio is the global leader in legal AI, with more than US$500M in ARR. We build AI for legal professionals every day. This role makes sure Clio runs on it too. You'll sit in Strategy & Operations, partner with our AI Centre of Excellence, and do two things most roles keep separate: shape the corporate strategy, and build the agents and automations that deliver it. You'll find the highest-value work, build the first version yourself, and stay with it until teams actually use it.
We are seeking a Senior Strategy & Operations Associate to join our Strategy & Operations team. This role is available to candidates in either Vancouver or Toronto.
The team
Strategy & Operations partners with leaders across Clio on corporate and business strategy, new opportunities, business performance, and the company’s operating rhythm. We bring analysis, an organization-wide perspective, and the ability to turn decisions into action. As a Senior Strategy & Operations Associate, you will have the opportunity to help determine immediate and long-term business strategy, set OKRs, build business / investment cases, and support our business review rituals to measure business performance.
The team also drives work within Clio’s AI Centre of Excellence (CoE) to identify opportunities, build and test AI-enabled workflows, and help teams adopt approaches that improve how work gets done. As a Senior Associate, you will help the team move from the big picture to a working solution: engaging teams cross functionally to understand a problem, set a clear direction, measure impact, define prototypes, and iterate on them. You will be supported with the most advanced AI models and tech stack, and work directly with the C-suite on driving org wide business transformation.
What you’ll work on
- Partner with teams through the AI CoE to understand recurring work, identify valuable opportunities for AI, and define the problem, desired outcome, and practical path to delivery.
- Go beyond applying AI to your own productivity by designing, prototyping, and shipping AI-enabled solutions, such as internal agents, research or analysis workflows, and process automations, that others can use.
- Apply systems thinking: connect processes, data, tools, and decision points; work from first principles when the path is unclear; and translate a vision into sequenced steps.
- Test solutions with users, verify outputs, document limitations and safeguards, and make the work maintainable so it can be adopted and improved beyond an initial pilot.
- Contribute to strategic projects such as market and expansion assessments, product and business strategy, investment cases, and performance analysis.
- Help leaders prepare for planning, OKRs, business reviews, and Board or executive discussions by turning evidence into clear insights, choices, and actions.
What experience you have:
- Evidence that you’ve built and delivered something others use, ideally an AI-enabled workflow, agent, automation, internal tool, or similar solution. We’re interested in the problem you solved, your role in building it, how you tested it, and what happened after launch.
- Enough technical fluency to prototype and deliver directly, and to collaborate effectively with technical partners when a solution needs deeper engineering or integration.
- Strong analytical and strategic judgment: you can structure ambiguous problems, work with business data, test assumptions, and make a clear recommendation.
- The ability to work across functions and domains, earn trust with stakeholders, and adapt a solution based on how people actually work.
- Sound judgment about accuracy, confidential information, responsible AI use, and where human review remains necessary.
- Clear writing and communication, with the ability to explain both a strategic recommendation and the workings and limits of a solution.
Your background may be in strategy and operations, product, consulting, solutions delivery, or another role that combines business judgment with hands-on building. Demonstrated impact through your career is more important than a particular career path.
Serious bonus points if you have:
- MBA
- Direct experience with an AI, SaaS or Legal tech company
- Experience taking an internal solution from prototype through adoption and handoff.
