Job Description:

Role Overview

The VP, Debt Capital Markets plays a critical role in originating, structuring, and executing debt financing transactions for investment grade clients. Partnering closely with investment banking relationship teams, corporate banking, syndication and sales & trading, the VP advises clients on capital structure, funding strategy, market conditions, and liability management opportunities.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day‑to‑day execution of investment grade debt transactions, overseeing financial modeling, debt capacity analysis, market comparables, and investor materials.
  • Develop and maintain senior client relationships with CFOs, Treasurers, and other corporate decision-makers, serving as a strategic advisor on capital structure, market conditions, and financing alternatives.
  • Support structuring of complex financing solutions across sectors.
  • Manage cross‑functional coordination with syndicate desks, legal counsel, rating agencies, risk teams, and sales & trading.
  • Provide strategic advice on financing alternatives, capital markets trends, and funding optimization.
  • Coordinate transaction execution across internal stakeholders, external counsel, rating agencies, and investors.
  • Prepare client presentations, market updates, and financing recommendations.
  • Mentor and develop analysts and associates, contributing to professional growth.
  • Uphold risk management, compliance, and governance standards throughout all deal processes.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of investment banking or capital markets experience, preferably with exposure to DCM products.
  • Strong understanding of debt products, capital markets dynamics, and credit analysis.
  • Demonstrated client management and transaction execution capabilities.
  • Series 7 and 79 licenses, or the ability to obtain required licenses within the applicable period.
  • Undergraduate degree required; MBA, CFA, or other relevant professional designation preferred.
