About This Role:

Giant Tiger Wholesale is looking to hire a permanent Loss Prevention Gatehouse Operator for our 660,000 square foot distribution centre in Johnstown, Ontario! As a Loss Prevention Gatehouse Operator, you’ll play an important role in keeping our facility safe by monitoring access points, tracking inbound and outbound traffic, and supporting our Loss Prevention and Operations teams.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Control and document the Gatehouse access points of incoming and outgoing trucks, visitors and contractors;

• Complete reports by recording observations, information, occurrences and surveillance activities;

• Communicate arrivals and departures of shipments to the Operations and LP Team;

• Operate and monitor camera security systems;

• In the event of an emergency, maintain order and staff safety;

• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed;

• Assist in the execution of loss prevention activities and programs;

• Observe and supervise security camera systems;

• Accurately track all inbound/outbound transportation traffic;

• Provide direct support to the Loss Prevention Team and Facility Operations;

• Complete designated tasks as directed by the Loss Prevention Manager.

What You'll Bring:

• Self-motivated; able to work without direct supervision and is able to take control of situations requiring immediate attention;

• Demonstrated ability to deal with emergency/stressful situations in a calm and professional manner;

• High school diploma or GED equivalent;

• Computer competency, including MS Word and MS Outlook;

• Valid Security License;

• Well-presented and ability to maintain high standards of personal conduct;

• Law Enforcement Diploma or Police Foundations Diploma preferred;

• Have a good command of the English language, both written and verbal;

• Reliability, dependability and trustworthiness are essential;

• Successful candidates must be in good standing for both performance and health & safety.

Loss Prevention Gatehouse Operator Schedule:

Week 1: Sunday, Monday, Thursday, Friday, 7:00 pm - 7:00 am

Week 2: Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday 7:00 pm - 7:00 am

Hourly Rate

Please note that overnight shifts and working in our cold storage location qualify for hourly premiums, further increasing your earning potential.
