BUSINESS UNIT DESCRIPTION

We provide integrated capital markets products, investment banking advisory services, corporate lending and top-ranked research to corporate, government and institutional clients around the world. Our goal is to be the leading Capital Markets franchise in Canada and the lead relationship bank for key clients globally.

JOB PURPOSE

We are seeking a trader to join a Singapore-based securities financing desk with a primary focus on credit and illiquid assets, and a secondary focus on liquid securities. The role requires the trader to have an understanding of matched book repo management, interest rate risk, and credit risk. Primary markets include US, Canada, Japan, and Australia. The position is responsible for day-to-day funding, balance sheet optimization, liquidity management, and building asset and liability portfolios. Priority will be given to candidates with experience trading Canadian markets and knowledge of Canadian Banks.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Key trading and risk management responsibilities for our APAC securities financing platform
  • Repo market making and pricing for institutional counterparties while ensuring competitive pricing and efficient hedging
  • Support APAC time-zone pricing in global securities financing books, including Canada and the US
  • Collaborate with sales, risk, and operations teams to ensure seamless execution and risk management
  • Provide market color and trade ideas to clients and internal stakeholders
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of trading strategies to enhance revenue and market share
  • Maximize profitability of APAC GCF
  • Assist in building a comprehensive regional securities financing business

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Minimum 5 years in a repo, credit, or rates trading role
  • Strong understanding of fixed income markets, products, and client needs in the Asia time-zones
  • Fluency in developments in fixed income technology
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and relationship management skills
  • Ability to manage complex market risk independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong understanding of credit markets, credit risk, and portfolio management
  • Language skills appreciated, but not essential
  • Experience with APEX, Bloomberg appreciated
