What You’ll Be Doing

CIBC Private Wealth and Wood Gundy are focused on providing excellence in relationship-based advice, service and product solutions that meet our clients' needs. We have a comprehensive offer that addresses the full spectrum of wealth building clients - from self-directed investors to high net worth private wealth individuals, to institutional clients.

As the Senior Consultant, Fee-Based Integration, you’ll report to the Director, Fee-Based Integration, Wealth Solutions, and play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the strategic direction of fee-based solutions for CIBC Private Wealth and Wood Gundy across Ontario. This is your opportunity to influence the evolution of Wood Gundy advisory practices by providing partnership, insight, and execution support.

Portfolio management is a cornerstone of modern advisory practice, and you’ll serve as a subject matter expert and champion for disciplined portfolio management across both discretionary and non-discretionary business models. You’ll help advisors enhance client outcomes through scalable portfolio construction, implementation, and monitoring approaches aligned to client needs and practice goals.

The CIBC Unified Account (UA) platform will be the foundational portfolio management and trading system for Fee-Based Solutions at Wood Gundy. Unified Accounts represent the next step in the evolution of Separately Managed Accounts and Fee-Based Solutions, offering a single account solution that holds multiple investment “sleeves” and automates rebalancing and cashflow management. You’ll translate portfolio management concepts into practical advisor workflows, accelerating adoption of the UA program and fee-based solutions. This includes contributing to the development of tools and programs that enhance advisors’ business practices and drive revenue and market share. This highly visible role blends analytics, consulting, and change leadership, partnering closely with Wood Gundy advisory teams, branch leadership, and other Wealth Management partners to accelerate adoption and support the ongoing evolution of the UA platform.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 2-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

The expected annualized base salary range for this role is $92,490 to $110,000.
The base salary is determined by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s skills, experience, and job-related knowledge, as well as geographic location and specific business needs. Our compensation philosophy supports ongoing growth and development, enabling progression within the salary range as team members advance in their roles.
In addition to base pay, compensation for this role includes participation in an annual discretionary incentive or bonus program.
We are committed to providing fair, equitable, and competitive compensation opportunities for all employees and we encourage open conversations about compensation throughout the recruitment process.

How You’ll Succeed

Develop expertise in fee-based products (such as Investment Consulting Services (ICS) and Portfolio Partner (PP)) to form informed perspectives. Serve as a key contact and Unified Account (UA) subject matter expert for Investment Advisors, Branch Management, and internal partners. Build and maintain strong relationships with key fee-based Advisor supporters and investment staff.

  • Business Development – Analyze advisors’ books of business to uncover data-driven opportunities and develop strategic proposals. Prospect advisors in the region to understand their business goals and present tailored recommendations. Collaborate with Investment Advisors to build action plans that optimize business practices through increased use of the UA program and fee-based offerings. Monitor fee-based targets to drive revenue, competitiveness, market share, and operational efficiency.

  • Program and Tool Development – Partner with the Director, Fee-Based Integration, Wealth Solutions, and Wood Gundy branch leadership to develop and implement programs, tools, and portfolio management strategies that increase adoption and grow fee-based assets. Work with Practice Management, Training & Development, Head Office partners, and vendors to create sessions that enhance portfolio management capabilities. Develop and refine resources, tools, and materials (such as presentations, Excel tools, and guides) to support advisory teams and consultants.

  • Unified Account Program Support – Promote UA best practices, reinforce benefits, and coordinate resolution of UA-related challenges with Technology/Operations and internal partners. Support the phased roll-out of the UA program across regions, and contribute to platform evolution by sharing feedback and improvement opportunities. Identify efficiencies in business practices to optimize resource usage and assess operational and client impacts related to changes in fee-based and UA offerings.
