SSR Mining – Seabee Gold Operation (SGO) is hiring for a Supervisor, Maintenance (Mobile).

About Your New Role:

Reporting to the Superintendent, Maintenance, the Supervisor, Maintenance, will oversee the day-to-day operations of the shops and mobile equipment both on surface and underground; organizes, distributes, and verifies the work of the workforce; establishes priorities and schedules daily and weekly work; handles the information from work orders and daily check; verifies the purchase orders and maintains equipment and safety of employees.

You will coordinate all activities in the maintenance division their shift to achieve a safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation. You will also work as required, with the support staff of other departments to meet stated goals and production targets. You are directly responsible for the safety of your crew, the efficiency of your crew’s performance, production targets and the equipment assigned to employees underground.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Directly supervise, deploy personnel, and assign maintenance work based on weekly plans, production targets and preventative maintenance schedules using quality standards and safe, efficient, environmentally acceptable mining practices.

  • Ensure urgent breakdown repairs are attended to safely adequately in a timely manner.

  • Lead and organize structured routine safety inspections, perform job observations.

  • Identify opportunities for continuously improving maintenance processes and systems, put measures in place to improve and track improvements.

  • Work closely with procurement to properly prioritize all required parts and materials to ensure they are available to maintain equipment availability targets.

  • Ensure compliance to planned maintenance schedules, obtain, and create service reports, close work orders, and create requisitions to maintain plan, manage equipment backlog and track all work performed.

  • Review safe work plans/ hazard assessment with crew prior to job commencement.

  • Conduct incident investigations and prepare associated support documentation immediately.

  • Prepare and complete the necessary maintenance documents (crew line up, attendance forms, time sheets or time entry, shift production and equipment report etc.)

  • Communicate and act of pre and post shift activities.

  • Coordinate crew training as required.

  • Act as a resource to the maintenance planners concerning task organization, parts requirements, task duration, manpower schedules and accurate equipment maintenance requirements.

  • Assist in managing and developing the performance of employees, using consistent performance management and communications techniques.

  • Any other duties as assigned by the department.

Your Knowledge and Skills:

  • High degree of knowledge of mobile equipment and processing equipment maintenance.

  • Working knowledge of principles of maintenance planning, scheduling, and coordination.

  • Ability to foster teamwork and collaboration among all employees.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative in a results-oriented environment.

  • Ability to deal effectively in a fast-paced environment with high stress situations.

  • Excellent attention to detail and problem solving.

  • Excellent interpersonal and delegation skills.

  • Ability to analyze and solve problems.

  • Competency with computers and Microsoft Office Suite.

Your Education and Experience:

The successful candidate will have:

  • Interprovincial journeyperson certification in a field related to mobile equipment maintenance.

  • Minimum five (5) years of directly related experience, preferably in the mining industry.

  • Minimum two (2) years of leadership experience.

About Our Working Conditions:

This position has a schedule of 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off at our remote camp which you will be required to fly in fly out with pick up points in Saskatoon, Prince Albert and La Ronge.
