Hiring unit: Department of Bioresource Engineering

Course subject code and title: BREE 510 Watershed Systems Management (CRN 385) 3 credits

Session: Fall 2026: August 31 to December 31, 2026 (note exam period December 7-22, 2026)

Location and schedule: Lecture – Raymond Building R4-045 Monday 10:05 a.m.-12:55 p.m.

Remuneration: $11,824

Education: Ph.D. in relevant field (e.g., water management, agroecology, etc.) with a prior Bachelor in Engineering in a relevant field such as Bioresource Engineering.

Experience: Demonstrated experience / extensive knowledge of the course content: collaborative, integrated and adaptive watershed management with a focus on integrated water resources management (IWRM). Topics include: stakeholder engagement, vertical and horizontal integration, participatory water resources planning and management, water resources assessment, modeling, adaptive management, nature-based solutions, and transboundary management. Previous experience working with/in watershed organizations in Quebec is important.

Other qualification requirement(s) : The course is taught in-person.

Knowledge of the McGill MyCourses learning management system and virtual learning platforms (e.g., Zoom, WebEx). Training and assistance on remote teaching is available through Teaching and Learning Services (TLS).

Note: The McGill exam sessions take place over two weeks after the end of classes, and Course Lecturers are expected to be available on the day of a scheduled final exam and are required to grade final exams as part of their contract.
