The pay range for the co-op student role will reflect factors such as the candidate's experience, academic level, and the specific skillset required for the role.
Loblaw has adopted the following hybrid working model (a combination of working between the office and remotely). Colleagues can work remotely up to 1 day a week, while spending the other 4 days in the office (to be determined by each business unit).
Why is this role important
As a Co-op, Digital Merchandising, you will support the day-to-day execution of key eCommerce workflows, with a focus on product onboarding, promotional setup, and site merchandising. Sitting at the intersection of several cross-functional teams, you will help ensure products, promotions, and digital experiences are launched accurately, on time, and with the customer experience in mind.
This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and interested in learning how an eCommerce business operates from end to end. You will work closely with partners across Category, Trading, Content, Production, Product and Digital Merchandising to coordinate deliverables, manage timelines, and bring commercial priorities to life on the website.
You will also contribute to the merchandising of digital shop pages, balancing strong visual presentation with business performance and customer discoverability. In a fast-moving retail environment, you will support both planned initiatives and reactive business needs while developing a strong understanding of digital merchandising best practices.
What you’ll do
Product Onboarding
- Support the end-to-end onboarding of products onto joefresh.com.
- Coordinate required product information, content, imagery, and other digital assets with cross-functional partners.
- Track onboarding timelines and deliverables to help ensure products are customer-ready and launched on schedule.
- Review product setup and site presentation for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
- Identify missing information, dependencies, or potential launch issues and proactively follow up with the appropriate partners.
Promotional Execution
- Support the setup and execution of site promotions and clearance campaigns.
- Coordinate promotional requirements, timelines, approvals across relevant stakeholders.
- Help ensure promotional messaging, product inclusion, pricing presentation, and landing experiences are accurate and aligned with the approved plan.
- Conduct pre-launch and post-launch quality assurance checks and escalate issues where required.
Digital Merchandising
- Merchandise category, collection, campaign, and shop pages to create an intuitive and engaging customer experience.
- Support product sequencing and assortment presentation based on business priorities, customer relevance, inventory availability, and performance.
- Maintain a strong visual standard across digital shop pages while considering product discoverability and conversion.
- Assist with ongoing site updates and refreshes to ensure merchandising remains relevant and commercially effective.
- Monitor site experiences and flag opportunities to improve product presentation or the customer journey.
Core Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Business, Marketing, eCommerce, Digital Media, Retail Management, or a related field.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Proactive, collaborative, and comfortable taking ownership of assigned work.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and respond effectively to time-sensitive business needs.
- Strong interest in eCommerce, retail, digital merchandising, and the online customer experience.
- Comfortable working with spreadsheets, trackers, and digital tools; experience with Excel or Google Sheets is an asset.
- Previous exposure to a CMS, eCommerce platform, product information system, or merchandising tool is an asset but not required.
- Analytical curiosity and an interest in understanding how merchandising decisions influence customer behaviour and business performance.
