Manager, In-Store & Local Marketing (12 month contract)

Why is this role important?

The Manager – In-Store & Local Marketing plays a critical role in bringing the No Frills brand to life across more than 300 stores and the communities they serve.

This role sits in the No Frills marketing team supporting in-store excellence and our No Frills Owners, translating brand and campaign strategies into clear, effective programs that can be successfully executed at store level.

You will support in-store marketing and local marketing initiatives while partnering closely with Store Operations, Promotions, Owners, Loblaw Agency, Loblaw Media and other internal and external partners. Success in this role requires strong executional excellence, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple programs and stakeholders in a fast-paced retail environment.

What you'll do:

In-Store Marketing & Execution

  • Lead the development and execution of in-store marketing and signage programs across the No Frills store network.
  • Partner closely with national and regional Operations teams to ensure marketing programs are practical, clearly communicated and successfully executed in stores.
  • Manage projects from briefing through creative development, approvals, production, distribution and store execution.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify and improve in-store marketing processes and the Owner/store experience.

Local Marketing & Owner Support

  • Support local marketing programs for more than 300 No Frills stores, ensuring Owners have the tools, resources and guidance needed to effectively market within their communities.
  • Support local initiatives including community events, sponsorships, grand openings and other store-specific marketing opportunities.
  • Act as a key Marketing partner for Owners and Operations teams, helping resolve marketing questions and executional challenges.

Campaign & Channel Execution

  • Lead the execution of key brand campaigns and programs, ensuring activity aligns with annual brand objectives and campaign priorities.
  • Partner with Loblaw Agency and other internal and external partners to manage creative development, reviews and approvals with multiple stakeholders.
  • Support the execution and coordination of owned marketing channels, including in-store, flyer, email and SMS.
  • Ensure consistency between national marketing campaigns and the customer experience at store level.

Planning, Insights & Measurement

  • Translate brand and portfolio objectives into clear campaign and program plans.
  • Use customer, business and store insights, along with learnings from previous programs, to improve future execution.
  • Partner with Marketing leaders to establish clear objectives and success measures for key initiatives.
  • Manage program budgets, timelines and deliverables, identifying risks and resolving issues proactively.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

  • Collaborate with Marketing, Pricing/Promotions, Operations and agency partners to identify new ways to improve the in-store and local customer experience.
  • Bring forward ideas that improve marketing effectiveness, simplify execution for stores and strengthen the No Frills brand within local communities.

What you bring

  • 3+ years of progressive marketing experience, ideally within retail, grocery, consumer packaged goods or another B2C multi-location business.
  • Strong experience with in-store marketing, retail program execution or marketing operations.
  • Experience supporting local marketing, community sponsorships, or B2C multi-location marketing programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects involving multiple stakeholders, timelines and deliverables.
  • Strong attention to detail with a track record of delivering high-quality execution.
  • Experience working with creative agencies and managing creative development and approval processes.
  • Understanding of owned marketing channels such as flyer, email, SMS and in-store communications.
  • Ability to translate marketing strategy into clear, actionable execution plans.
  • Comfort using data, customer insights and program results to inform decisions and improve future programs.
  • Strong budget management, organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively across Marketing, Operations, agencies and store partners.
  • A practical, solutions-oriented mindset and the ability to navigate competing priorities in a fast-paced retail environment.
