JOB DESCRIPTION
Irving Forest Services is seeking a strategic and hands-on Human Resources Manager to join our Saint John, NB team. In this role, you will partner with leaders to attract, develop, and retain talent, support effective workforce planning, and deliver practical HR solutions that strengthen employee engagement and business performance.
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and support talent acquisition strategies, hiring plans, and talent pipelines aligned with current and future workforce needs.
  • Lead full-cycle recruitment for leadership, professional, highly skilled, and other business-critical roles using fair, consistent, and effective selection practices.
  • Support the divisional student and early talent programs including campus recruitment, student scholarships and development program
  • Manage the annual performance management cycle
  • Oversee leadership development programs, including delivery of internal training courses.
  • Support talent review, succession planning, and workforce planning with practical recommendations, market insights, and talent solutions.
  • Manage employee relations, including performance management and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Partner with business leaders to understand needs and deliver effective HR solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • At least 5 years of progressive HR experience, including talent acquisition, performance management, leadership development, and employee relations.
  • Experience with talent pipelines, succession planning, leadership development, and/or workforce planning is considered an asset.
  • Strong aptitude with HRIS, recruitment systems, Microsoft Office, and related business tools.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to partner effectively with candidates, HR teams, business leaders, and external providers.
  • Experience working in heavy industrial, construction, or manufacturing environments would be an asset.
