JOB DESCRIPTION
Fleetway is seeking qualified applicants for two Supervisor, Technical Team positions within our Engineering Department:
- Supervisor, Technical Team (Mechanical)
- Supervisor, Technical Team (Mechanical or Naval Architecture)
Reporting to the Manager, Technical Team, the Supervisor will lead a team of approximately 10 Engineers and Engineering Technologists and play a key role in providing leadership, mentorship, and technical guidance while supporting the successful delivery of engineering work across multiple programs.
As a working supervisor, you will balance people leadership with technical contributions, helping to ensure your team is engaged, supported, and positioned to deliver high-quality results.
The successful candidate will be passionate about developing people, fostering collaboration, and creating an environment where team members can grow professionally while contributing to Fleetway's continued success.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead, mentor, and support a team of Engineers and Engineering Technologists.
- Foster employee growth through coaching, goal setting, performance discussions, and career development planning.
- Promote a positive, collaborative, and high-performing team environment.
- Provide technical guidance and support to ensure work is completed efficiently and to a high standard.
- Collaborate with managers and program leaders to support resource planning and work assignments.
- Monitor team workload, utilization, and skill development opportunities.
- Support employee relations matters and provide day-to-day leadership to team members.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
- Perform administrative leadership responsibilities including timesheet approvals, leave approvals, and expense approvals.
- Contribute directly to engineering project work as part of a working supervisor model.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- For the Mechanical position: Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
- For the Mechanical or Naval Architecture position: Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering Technology or Naval Architectural Technology.
Experience
- Minimum of 6-8 years of marine industry experience with progressively increasing levels of responsibility.
- Strong technical background and experience working within engineering project environments.
- Previous leadership, supervisory, mentoring, or team lead experience is considered a strong asset.
- Demonstrated passion for developing people and supporting team success.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to balance technical responsibilities with people leadership duties.
