JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a dynamic and strategic HR professional to lead and manage all human resources operations for our diverse business units, including a unionized sawmill, in the Southern NB Region and Truro NS. As a key member of the HR Leadership Team, you will play a vital role in driving our people strategy, ensuring alignment with our business goals and fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and manage the HR team, providing strategic direction and guidance.
- Ensure policies, procedures and programs are effectively implemented and consistently applied to support business objectives.
- Partner with business leaders to understand their needs and provide HR solutions.
- Oversee recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes, ensuring a talented and diverse workforce for the region.
- Manage employee relations, including performance management, discipline and conflict resolution.
- Guide employees on compensation and benefits programs, providing advice, answering inquiries and promoting understanding of available offerings and resources.
- Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture, promoting employee well-being and satisfaction.
- Collaborate with other departments to align HR strategies with overall business goals.
- Travel to Truro, Nove Scotia as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior HR management role, preferably in a manufacturing or forestry industry setting.
- Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws and labor relations.
- Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and build strong relationships.
- Analytical mindset with proficiency in HRIS systems and data analysis.
- Demonstrated success in developing and implementing HR strategies.
- Experience in talent acquisition, performance management and employee relations.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
